Friday October 21, 2016 10 am – 3 pm

Howdy! You are invited to the 2nd annual joint meeting of the Longhorn and Alamo IFT Sections at Texas A&M University’s Department of Nutrition and Food Science. Join us in fun, food, games, and 1-on-1 interactions with Texas A&M students and faculty on Friday October 21 in College Station. Come see how we are implementing our “Food Science 2.0” plans and see concept drawings of the future home of Food Science and Technology led by Dr. Boon Chew and Dr. Steve Talcott.

This year we will have our own version of the Food Network’s “Chopped” competition. Student and IFT members (preferably combined teams, 2 industry + 2 students) are encouraged to organize into 4-person teams for the competition on who can make the best toppings for a hotdog! Teams need to bring their own ingredients for 2 rounds of competition, unless your team gets Chopped in the first round! We will supply the BBQ grill, hot dogs, and buns; the rest is up to your team. Let us know if you want to sponsor a team, use your company’s ingredients, or join a student team.
