Thank you to all who were able to make it to Houston for February’s Lunch-N-Learn, and thank you to our speaker Dr. Gary Acuff, and host and tour guides at Perfect Fit Meals.  Dovetailing on Dr. Acuff’s discussion last month on FSMA, we take a look this month at Sanitation.  We are glad to have Eric Caballero, of AFCO, to discuss:  Sanitation – Is Your Process Working?  Join us at March 31 at FSNS for lunch and hear about best practices in the area of sanitation.

There are several upcoming events, and we also look forward to IFT’s AMFE (Annual Meeting & Food Expo) July 16-19 in Chicago.  Registration is open, and also open for many of the short courses available.  Review the available short courses Also, please mark in your calendar April 21st for our April L-N-L at Alchemy Systems in Austin, TX.  Tejas Bhatt, Director of the Global Food Traceability Center (GFTC) at IFT will be joining us to discuss Food Traceability and Food Fraud.

Also, there are still positions available within the Alamo IFT, if you or someone you know would like to volunteer and get plugged into our local IFT community.  Please reach out to me or any of the officers or directors for further inquiry.

Thank you again for impacting what we eat, and we look forward to seeing you this month at FSNS.

Sincerely,
Lex Hander
