What a great opportunity we had at the NASA lunch-n-learn to hear Shannon Walker, a previous astronaut speak, as well as tour the food lab and see the Mission Control Center. A big thanks for Vickie Kloeris for organizing such a great, memorable event! We also want to thank Hanna Instruments for sponsoring the event and allowing us to grow our scholarship fund.

We look forward to our March Lunch-n-Learn at Whole Foods in Austin March 30th with Mike Schall a food industry consultant speaking on private label brands and the important role of ingredients and flavors. Please see the calendar of events for upcoming industry get-togethers and future lunch-n-learns.

Thank you to all who took the time to vote in the IFT elections that cover both National and our Alamo chapter. We had 2 local chapter members that ran for the National IFT Board; Vickie Kloeris (candidate for Board of Directors) and Michele Perchonok (candidate for President-Elect). We all wish them luck.

We appreciate everyone’s participation in the lunch-n-learns and still have a couple of positions on the board open so please visit our list and let us know if you are interested in becoming more involved in Alamo IFT.

Sincerely,

Brittany Shupe
